Teacher Self Care for Fall 2021 [S3 E70]

Listen to the full episode below:

Get out all the pumpkins, light that Apple crisp candle, and put on your sweaters (and bring a change of clothes if it’s still 80 degrees where you live) because it’s FALL!

Seasons have this beautiful sense of renewal, so today we’re taking a step back from the curriculum to welcome Fall and to remind you to take a breath and give yourself some love and attention. Look at how things are going and the routines you’ve created so far this year. What might you want to change? What do you want to continue doing?

The term “self care” is a hot buzzword right now and often comes with unrealistic expectations. If that phrase makes you cringe, don’t worry, we’re not going to tell you to take hour-long bubble baths every night. Instead, we’re sharing our definitions of self care, which really comes down to doing things that make us feel like us. It’s all about finding those small moments of joy throughout the day without any guilt.

We hope you’ll join us and indulge in the season. Whether it’s apple picking, going to a pumpkin patch, taking a scenic drive, or going crazy in the seasonal section at Trader Joes, do it! It may seem silly, but it’s not. These little things make us happy. Fall will come and go quickly, so enjoy it while it’s here!
